The independent disciplinary committee was chaired by Pam Woodman of Scotland and also included Simon Thomas (Wales) and Pat Barriscale (Ireland).
The committee, having considered all matters, upheld the citing. They considered the low entry point of four weeks to be appropriate.
However, as there were aggravating factors, including the need for a deterrent for this type of offence and the player's recent disciplinary record, this was increased by a further two weeks, to six weeks.
The player is suspended from all rugby until midnight on Sunday, March 24, 2013, and has the right of appeal.
