Strategic Review 2012

The past decade has seen significant changes and growth in Irish Rugby. This has been built on the dedication of all stakeholders in Irish Rugby including players, coaches, volunteers, supporters, sponsors, administrators, schools and clubs.

While everybody should take satisfaction in how the game has flourished, it has not been without its challenges. Even greater ones exist in the years ahead.

Over the last 12 months there has been regular engagement and communication between the IRFU and all the stakeholders including clubs, schools, Ten Year Ticket Holders, Supporters and the wider sporting audience.

This took the form of various surveys, such as Vision 2020, focus groups and various research projects and consultations.

While we have undertaken strategic planning processes in the past, on this occasion we are striving to create a longer term vision which is inclusive and create a bright, sustainable future for Irish Rugby.

This section of the website contains details of the ongoing review process including the results of the Club Engagement programme, the previous Strategic Plan and the dates for further consultation.

The below document provides some background information for delegates attending the IRFU Briefing and Action Workshops being held across the provinces during September 2012 as part of the strategic planning process for Irish Rugby.
