The Ireland Women wrapped up the two-legged European Sevens Grand Prix Series with a fifth place finish overall, following their Plate success in Brive and their qualification for the Cup competition in Marbella. Check out some photos from both events.

Four Ireland players - Brian O'Driscoll, Jonathan Sexton, Paul O'Connell and Jamie Heaslip - have been included in the British & Irish Lions team for Saturday's first Test against Australia in Brisbane.

The Ireland Under-20s were runners-up in a tough pool and despite losing to hosts France last night, Mike Ruddock's charges could still finish the IRB Junior World Championship on a high by beating Australia in Sunday's 7th-8th place play-off.

They were second row Mike McCarthy and replacement tighthead prop Declan Fitzpatrick. Declan came on as a replacement for Mike Ross at a critical stage of the game.

McCarthy was favourably commented on by the match commentators for the amount of unseen work that he had done.

By now, Mike seems like an established international as this was his seventh cap, whereas it was Declan's third cap and his Six Nations debut. Both of them toured New Zealand with Ireland last summer.
