2 Handed Touch

  • Divide players into 2 equal teams (Blue Team Attacking – Yellow Team Defending)
  • Space and numbers will decide the size of the pitch
  • Teams are trying to score by running over the try line of the opposition
  • The defence is trying to stop the attack by touching the player with the ball around the waist with two hands
  • When a player is touched by a defender they stop and turn towards their own team and count to three before passing the ball to their team mate
  • When the touched player is counting to three both the attack and the defence must retreat 3 meters on their own side
  • The object of the game is to introduce the concept of players being onside when there is a breakdown in play
