The growth of Bud Light Tag has been phenomenal and this year's programme expects to see over 1,000 teams and 12,000 participants at 20 venues across Ireland.

These huge, brand new venues include St. Mary's College RFC/Templeogue College and Blackrock College RFC (Dublin), Highfield RFC (Cork), Malone RFC in Belfast and Buccaneers RFC in Athlone as the newest members of the Bud Light Tag family in 2010.

"Last year's leagues exceeded expectations to the point that we have again expanded the number of venues, allowing for more teams and players to take part," said IRFU Leisure Rugby Manager Olly Hodges.  
 
The social aspect of Tag rugby and its ability to attract players who may never have even set foot in a rugby club before has been not only a boost to the venue club in term of revenues, but also to the possibility of attracting new members.
 
Bud Light Tag leagues cater for all levels of skill and fitness for mixed social teams, mens, and also the ever popular Veterans Tag (over 33s).

The growth of Tag rugby has been successful in spreading the popularity of the game of rugby and its non-contact nature and social aspect have made it accessible to both men and women in the specially graded levels.

Registrations are performed online at www.irfutag.ie and open on Thursday, January 7, 2010, with Team Registration Fees remaining at 2009 prices, providing great value to all participating players.
