About The Camps

Why these camps work

All activities on the camps are professionally supervised and administrated. The activities are child-centered, taking into consideration the capacities and needs of the young player as identified in the I.R.F.U.'s Long Term Development Pathway Stage 1 (FUNdamental Stage).

Fitness features

Team-spirit/focus on active not reactive activities.

Through the physical activities of the camp the young player's physical fitness will be advanced within an
environment of fun participation.

How they are run

The camps are run to an IRFU template, by suitably qualified and appointed staff. Each camp is co-ordinated regionally by the coaching and technical staff in the Province.

How the coaching is approached

The coaching process on the camps encourages the development of the players through active guidance, with the players learning predominantly through playing and fun activities.

All coaches employed on the camps are qualified at mini rugby level under the IRFU Coach Development Pathway, bringing both experience and understanding to the role of coaching young children.
