Murphy Passed Fit To Face England

Ireland full-back Geordan Murphy underwent a fitness test on his Achilles tendon injury today during the squad's training session on UCD's all-weather pitch.

Murphy came through the test and has been passed fit to take his place in the team to play England in Saturday's Six Nations encounter at Twickenham.

That means the confirmed Ireland team for the game will be: Geordan Murphy; Tommy Bowe, Andrew Trimble, Shane Horgan, Robert Kearney; Ronan O'Gara (capt), Eoin Reddan; Marcus Horan, Rory Best, John Hayes, Donncha O'Callaghan, Paul O'Connell, Denis Leamy, David Wallace, Jamie Heaslip.

Replacements: Bernard Jackman, Tony Buckley, Mick O'Driscoll, Simon Easterby, Peter Stringer, Paddy Wallace, Luke Fitzgerald.

The Ireland squad and management flew across to London this afternoon to set up camp at the team hotel. Tomorrow will see the squad take part in the Captain's Run in the morning before Eddie O'Sullivan and stand-in captain Ronan O'Gara hold a final press conference back at the team hotel.
