Elite Player Development Officer (EPDO), Leinster

The IRFU are currently accepting applications for the position of Elite Player Development Officer (EPDO) based in Leinster. The EPDO is an integral part of the IRFU development programmes and the successful applicant will be required to fulfil the following main duties:

  • Manage and deliver the elite player development programmes in Leinster, aligned to the National Talent Programme
  • Deliver technical sessions to elite squads/players in the province
  • Assist with coaching courses and player clinics
  • Supervise and manage the Regional Development Squads

The successful candidate will have excellent rugby understanding and credibility together with communication, organisational and teamwork skills. Five years experience coaching/playing at an elite level and a Level 2 coaching qualification are highly desirable.

Academy Fitness Coach, Leinster

The IRFU would like to invite applications for the role of 'Academy Fitness Coach' in Leinster. This exciting and challenging position will play a critical role in the on-going development of academy players within the province. The main responsibilities of the role will include the delivery of the IRFU conditioning programme to academy players along with assisting in pre-season / in-season squad preparation.

Candidates are required to have a recognised qualification (degree / diploma) in the area of physical education, sports science or human movement, along with previous, relevant coaching experience in the area of strength, power training and development - it is essential that this experience has been within a rugby environment. An additional qualification in sport related competence (SAQ, functional conditioning etc) would also be an advantage.

Excellent organisation, communication and teamworking skills will be essential for the role, along with a good knowledge of microsoft office packages.
