Bad Weather Forces Cancellation Of Women's Interpros
By Editor
The IRFU Women's Interprovincial Championship finals, which had been re-fixed for Naas RFC this Sunday, have been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
Leinster were due to face defending champions Munster
Defending champions Munster were preparing to take on their arch rivals Leinster in Sunday's IRFU Women's Interprovincial Championship final at Naas RFC
Scott Walker, the IRFU's Domestic Rugby Manager, confirmed this evening that the cold snap has forced the cancellation of the IRFU Women's Interprovincial Championship deciders - the third-fourth place play-off between Connacht and Ulster and the final between Leinster and reigning champions Munster.

The games, which were originally postponed on November 29 due to an unplayable pitch at Donnybrook, had been re-fixed for Naas RFC's Forenaughts ground this Sunday with 1pm and 3pm kick-offs.

After a pitch inspection at the Kildare club this afternoon and examining the options available, it has been decided that the Women’s Interprovincial Championship finals will not go ahead due to adverse weather conditions.

A number of factors were taken into consideration, including pitch condition, player welfare, access to the venue, driving conditions, etc.

With the All-Ireland Women's League taking centre stage next weekend and the Women's RBS 6 Nations Championship looming large on the horizon - Ireland open the tournament against Italy in Ashbourne on Friday, February 5 - there will, unfortunately, be no re-fixture date for the Interpro games.
