The IRFU Women's Interprovincial Championship finals will take place this Sunday (January 10) at Naas RFC, with Ulster and Connacht clashing in the third-fourth place play-off at 1pm and reigning champions Munster meeting their arch rivals Leinster in the final at 3pm.

Munster are gunning for their fourth successive Interpro title, having come through the group phase unbeaten.

Fiona Steed's charges managed to 'nil' both Ulster (46-0) and Connacht (25-0) and beat Leinster, Sunday's opponents, on a 9-6 scoreline at Crosshaven RFC.

Historically, Munster-Leinster clashes are extremely tight affairs and this weekend's game will be no different as Leinster look to put an end to Munster's reign.

This is the fourth year both sides have met in the Interprovincial decider and going on previous results, the Naas decider will no doubt be a great occasion and highly competitive.

Leinster's coach Philip 'Goose' Doyle and co-captains Tania Rosser and Fiona Coghlan are very eager to put one over on their southern counterparts, with Doyle saying: "Munster have been setting the standards for so long now and I think it's time to bring some more hard earned silverware back to Leinster."

Place-kicker Nora Stapleton was Leinster's only scorer in their recent 9-6 defeat to Munster, landing two penalties. The eastern province have shown good form in the closing rounds of the Championship, with a 33-8 win over Connacht and a 48-0 triumph away in Ulster.

On Sunday the players from all four provinces will also be gunning to impress the watching Ireland management, ahead of the start of the Women's RBS 6 Nations Championship on Friday, February 5 when the girls in green entertain Italy at Ashbourne RFC.

Admission to the Women's Interpro finals is free and directions to Forenaughts are available here.
