Ed O’Donoghue returned to the Northern Hemisphere in 2008 after a two-year stint with Queensland Reds. Before heading to Australia, O’Donoghue developed a wealth of experience and professional skills over three seasons with Northampton Saints and Worcester Warriors.
The 25-year-old lock was born in London to Irish parents, grew up in Brisbane, Australia, and earned a place in the Australian Under-19 squad. He also played in the Australian Provincial Championship and earned his first Super 14 start in 2007, going on to play all 13 games in the season.
After two years with Ulster O’Donoghue will move to Leinster for the 2010/11 season. Made his debut for Ireland ‘A’ in February 2009 against Scotland ‘A’ in the RDS.
